It is my pleasure to welcome you to Dankook University.
I am Soon-Chul Ahn, the 19th President of Dankook University.

Founded in 1947 as Korea’s first four-year private university after national liberation, Dankook University has educated more than 230,000 graduates who have contributed to the nation and society. Our history is closely connected to the development of higher education in Korea. Guided by a strong spirit of change and innovation, we have consistently focused on educating future leaders with the vision and capability to contribute to humanity.

Today, universities face a period of unprecedented change and challenge. As the Fourth Industrial Revolution reshapes society, higher education must offer a clear vision for the future while creating new values and opportunities.

Building on our achievements, Dankook University is entering a new phase. As advances in artificial intelligence and media rapidly transform the educational environment, we will move forward with “Dankook Upgrade 5.0” as a comprehensive initiative to innovate our university.

We will enhance our educational systems and develop sustainable research platforms to create intellectual assets that lead the future. By sharing outstanding research outcomes with industry and society, we will promote entrepreneurship and active collaboration between academia and industry. Through these efforts, we aim to create a university where every member of the Dankook community can pursue their goals with pride and confidence.

The year 2027 marks the 80th anniversary of Dankook University. This is a time to reflect on our accomplishments while preparing for the next 100 years. By honoring our traditions and history, we will continue to build a knowledge community that leads future societal change.

By bringing together the strength and wisdom of our community, we will advance Dankook University as a globally respected institution defined by challenge, creativity, and excellence.
