Introduction

He graduated from Dankook University's Department of Biology and obtained master's and doctorate degrees from the same graduate school. The Ph.D. thesis is a systematic study of the marine Gammarideans (Crustacea, Amphipoda) from Korea and studied their relationship along with the discovery of amphipods living in Korean waters. The study was conducted at the Canadian Museum of Natural History (CMN) as a postdoctoral researcher. Phylogenetic studies of arthropod crustaceans (amphipod, ostracod, and Cumacea) are being conducted. It has been designated as a registration and preservation institution for marine life resources by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and is conducting comprehensive research and management of marine amphipod resources. He also serves as an editorial board member for the World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS) and the Journal of Species Research (JSR). Undergraduate lectures are taught 'Animal Taxonomy', 'Ecology', and 'Intertidal field workshop’.
