Introduction

I graduated from Korea University with a B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature and received my M.A. and Ph.D. in Latin American Literature from Indiana University at Bloomington and UCLA, respectively. Immediately after completing my Ph.D., I spent a year as a Faculty Fellow at UCLA, gaining valuable research and teaching experience. I then served as a visiting assistant professor at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in New York State for three years. Upon returning to Korea, I continued my academic career, teaching and conducting research at Seoul National University and Korea University. In 2022, I was awarded a Research Professorship by the National Research Foundation of Korea and am currently an Assistant Professor of Spanish and Latin American Studies at the Department of European and Latin American Studies, Dankook University Cheonan Campus.

Teaching Philosophy

I hold the cultivation of critical thinking skills as a core value of education. I believe that developing students' ability to think and analyze independently is an important task in literary and cultural education. To realize this goal, I conduct ongoing research and apply the insights and knowledge gained to the classroom to improve the quality of my teaching.
