교수소개

안녕하세요. 독성학연구실 책임자 김규봉입니다. 독성학은 인체의 질병을 유발하는 모든 인자의 기전을 연구하여 인간의 질병을 예방하고 치료하는 것을 연구하는 학문 분야입니다. 따라서, 보다 향상된 삶을 지향하는 것을 목적으로 합니다.

독성학연구실에서는 인체에 질병을 유발하는 물질들에 대하여 주로 연구합니다. 인체에 질병을 유발하는 물질은 우리 주변에 매우 많습니다. 우리가 매일 흡입하는 공기를 예로 들자면, 오존, 일산화탄소, 이산화황, 특히 담배연기 등이 유해하다고 할 수 있습니다. 매일 먹는 식품에는 중금속, 농약 등 미량이지만 유해한 물질들입니다. 이러한 유해 물질이 유해한 작용 즉, 독성작용을 나타내기 위해선 양이 매우 중요합니다. 독성학연구실에서는 독성물질의 인체 노출 양에 대한 연구(독성동태학)를 하며, 이 연구를 통하여 유해물질의 위해성평가(Risk Assessment)를 하고있습니다.

또한, 표적장기 연구로는 간장과 신장 독성을 평가하기 위한 새로운 방법으로 '독성대사체학(Toxicometabolomics)'을 수행하고 있습니다. 독성대사체학은 새로운 연구분야로 독성물질에 반응하는 생체의 대사체를 분석 연구합니다.
