Dankook University alumni Park Ji-won (Class of '15, Physical Education, Seoul City Hall) and Kim Tae-seong (Class of '20, International Sports, Hwaseong City Hall) delivered outstanding performances at the 2025 Winter Asian Games, held from February 7 to 14 in Harbin, China. Our student and alumni athletes collectively won three gold medals, four silver, and one bronze, reaffirming our strength in winter sports.

Our alumni particularly excelled in short-track speed skating, traditionally a strong event. Park Ji-won secured two gold medals in the 1,500m and 2,000m mixed relay events and also won silver in the 1,000m and 500m races. Kim Tae-seong contributed to the gold medal victory in the 2,000m mixed relay, while fellow alumna Lee So-yeon (Class of '12, Sports and Leisure Studies, Sports Toto) claimed a bronze medal in the 500m event.

In skiing events, our athletes also made remarkable achievements. Jong-hyun Yoon (1st-year student, International Sports) earned a silver medal in the freestyle skiing big air event, scoring 169.50 points to place second among seven competitors. Big air is an event in which athletes perform aerial tricks after launching from a large jump. Additionally, alumna Kim So-hee secured second place in the women's alpine skiing slalom event, finishing with a combined time of 1 minute 34.06 seconds over two runs.

Kyung-ho Yeom, head of the university’s athletics department, commented, "We are extremely proud of our students and alumni for achieving outstanding results on the global stage. We will continue to provide strong support to ensure they can train in an even better environment."
