The President of DKU’s College of Business & Economics Alumni association, Shin Yong-su, and nine other alumni visited the Jukjeon Campus on June 1st to deliver a donation of 220 million KRW to University President Chang Hosung for the university development fund. The development fund is expected to be used to support students selected by the College of Business & Economics alumni association.
The College of Business & Economics alumni association made its first donation of 5 million KRW in 2013 followed by 4 million KRW in 2014, and another 5 million KRW in 2015. This year, the association carried out a campaign and came together to collect funds to help current students study in a better environment, significantly increasing the amount of funds donated.
President Shin said “Dankook University’s College of Business & Economics has nurtured numerous male and female leaders in our society and in Korea,” and went on to explain the background of the donations as being used “to support various students at the College who are unable to fulfill their dreams due to financial difficulties, so they can focus on their studies and realize their potential to contribute to the future society.”
In addition, he shared his hopes for “the donations of the College of Business & Economics to serve as a trigger that can start a donation boom among alumni of other colleges within the university, as well.”
