Dankook University has established sisterhood with 170 different colleges and institutions in 34 different nations in the world. Among those, there are 44 different schools and institutions from 14 different nations that are established sisterhood with Dankook University in 2010.
The college dean, Ho Sung Chang, went to abroad such as America and China, trying his best to have cooperation relationship with colleges. Especially, he visited America with dance troupes consisting of 40 members, letting them know superiority of our traditional cultures. Based on this, he could establish MOU with other colleges and institutions, deriving pride and dignity for Korean residents in America.
Variety of companies with sisterhood with Dankook University gets diversified, expanding the range to the third world such as Uzbekistan, Peru, Czech Republic, Netherland, and Cambodia, middle Asia, and Europe. Especially, Dankook University establishes cooperation relationship not only with colleges but also with nations, college of department, and research institutes.
Recently, Architectures College and engineering college established sisterhood with creative engineering department of Waseda University in Japan, proceeding mutual program, exchanges of students and professors between colleges, proceeding mutual research projects and business such as co-sponsorship of conference

Proceeding major joint program with Yun Tae University
There has been an upward tendency for practical exchange along with an expansion of establishment of sisterhood with universities.
The main content is related to proceeding lectures for some of the classes by inviting professors from Dankook University for materials science and bioprocess majors in Yun Tae University in China. For some of those who complete related program will get an opportunity to take classes in Dankook University for 2 years. After completing specific procedures, the program will, if available, start from September in 2011. Executives in international affairs said “we currently discuss about degree program with Hanam University in China.”
Accomplishment of internationalization, vitalization of international summer school
International summer school, started from 2009, serves as an important role of bridge accomplishing “internationalization in progress” for current students or students from schools in affiliation.
International summer school, started from summer in 2010, get fame with more than 800 of current students participating in with about 100 students from school in affiliation. Especially, English Village program, paring up one foreign student with three of current students was the most famous. Furthermore, Academic Program, an intersession focused on English lecture, Intensive Korean Language and Culture Program, a cultural learning program in Korean, and International Summer Research Program, a research program for engineering major, were popular.

In addition, Dankook University manages international exchange programs such as interchange students, language courses abroad, and internship abroad. Dankook University is planning to steadily expand programs so that they can practically help students as many as possible. Goals being pursued are related to establish “Dankook in the world” brand via legitimacy and historicity linked to international programs.
Dean of international cultural exchange, Jae Woo Shim, said “Dankook University should enhance international competitiveness of current students in order to be one of the top ethnic history institutes in the world,” and he also said “in order to achieve goal, we will try to expand practical international exchange business in multilateral ways.”
