Professor Hae Won Kim won the Creative Knowledge Awards in 2010
Selected as the best researcher in the field of engineering based on the evaluation of researches for 10 years

Professor Hae Won KIm(Department of Nanobiomedical Science) won the Creative Knowledge Awards in 2010 held by KISTI.

The Creative knowledge Awards, the second this year, is for the outstanding scientists in the country who achieved the international academic value by holding the research field of the world level, and selects 9 researchers by academic field. First selecting the dissertations and the researchers within top 1% of citation, they choose the one who's research has the most productivity and applicability. Professor Hae Won Kim, the winner in the engineering field, has 12 dissertations of top 1% citation rate, and achieve 19.9% of research contribution rate cited total 604 times.

Professor Hae Won Kim said, "life science infrastructures in Cheon-Ahn campus and specialized business in the field of BT that Dankook University proceeds support this research one way or another," and he also said "the size of the market of tissue engineering, bio materials, and artificial organs reaches 200 billions dollars, expanding ripple effect in every year, and we try to especially focus on tissue engineering."

Professor Hae Won Kim has published about 80 dissertations registered in SCI, serving as an editor in international journal, "Journal of Tissue Engineering," proceeding research.

Currently he is in charge of the neogenesis engineering institution attached to Dankook University which is selected as the hub institution by the ministry of education, science and technology and supported 8.2 billion won of research expenses, and he is conducting researches on neogenesis of bone, teeth, neurosis through interdisciplinary research with dental medicine, natural sciences, and engineering. Recently the institution successfully developed the delivering system of nano-unit such as carbonated nano tube, and mezzo silica nano particles. Nanometer is one billionth meter which has the thickness similar to a hair. The institution is also attracting attention of the world by developing the technology to minimize the damage of animals when conducting the neogenesis research.

The manufacturing method of hydroxy-apatite nano tube for teeth and bones, the method of developing the nano fiber, and the fusion protein are applied for the patents of international PCT, and are under technology transfer and industrialization, granted patent support from the ministry of health and welfare or selected as the representative patent. The nano compound using carbon nano tube is also preparing for product development with the related enterprises through academic-industrial cooperation.
