Foundation of Dankook Global Video Contents Research Center
Established to be the Cornerstone for Korea’s Culture and Technology to Enter Hollywood

Dankook University opened a research center in L.A. to introduce Korea’s video content and technology to Hollywood.

Dankook University held an opening ceremony for the Dankook Global Video Contents Research Center in L.A., which is the home of many movie production companies, in order to study and analyze US’s cultural trends and its current state, and to widen its national and international network.
About 100 people including Chancellor Chang Ho-Sung, Dankook Global Video Contents Research Center director Wu Jung-Kwon, L.A. Consul General Shin Young-Sun, L.A. Korean Culture Center Director Kim Young-San, USC ICT (Institute of Creative Technology) Administration General Manager Clarke Lethin, V.P of Gravity Interactive Jay Choi, actor Jimmy Kim, Hollywood Story consultant Dara Marks and 30 other local filmmakers were in attendance.

The Dankook Global Video Contents Research Center will manage research on the current state of Korea’s video contents and technology as well as the needs of the US market’s technology. It will perform joint research with Mega Movie Productions and universities on those subjects. Also, it is planning to make movies with US universities by developing global education programs of short and intermediate-term programs that are conducted by Hollywood masters of moviemaking. Furthermore, it will open various Korean American video technology seminars and symposiums to introduce Korea’s outstanding cultural technology to the US.
