Department of Dance holds Celebration Performance for DKU 65th Anniversary, Splendid Movements and Outstanding Colors

The Department of Dance held a dance performance in celebration of the 65th anniversary of Dankook University’s founding at the Opera House of Seongnam Art Center at 8pm on Oct. 22 (Mon). On the performance day, Seongnam and Yongin citizens along with local high school students and Dankook university faculty and staff were invited. A total of 1,800 seats were filled, and the audience cheered for the high quality performance reflecting the hard training of the performers.

The dance performance started with , a creative modern dance, which pulled the audience into the performance with its delightful music and restrained movements; and continued on with , a ballet performance with stage and costumes transferred straight out of the fairy tale. The following dances included with splendid movements and colors, expressing the weak outside yet strong internal shape of Korean women each holding a “bu-po” (a stick with a puffy end) in pure white clothing, and a three drum performance with the elaborate sound of drums celebrating 65 years of enduring times and sounding out hope for a bright future of the university.
