Launch of a joint program that enables Dankook students to earn master’s degree at Jingdezhen Ceramics
Institute after they complete three years of undergraduate study at Dankook.

On the 15th of October, Dankook University signed a unique cooperation agreement with Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute, which is located in Jingdezhen, China, the world’s capital of porcelain.

Dankook University’s Department of Ceramics signed a general MOU with Jingdezhen Ceramics Institute at department level in 2008 and a student exchange agreement in 2012. The fruitful educational and cultural exchanges promoted between the institutions for the past several years have resulted in the launch of a ‘3+1+2 joint program’ on October 15.

The joint program allows Dankook’s ceramics students to complete three years of undergraduate study at Dankook, then one year of undergraduate study followed by two years of Master’s study at Jingdezhen Ceramics Institute. Both institutions are also putting efforts to develop a new exchange program that will allow participants of the ‘3+1+2 program’ to continue their study to the doctoral level.

Established in 1958, Jingdezhen Ceramics Institute is the only ceramic institution of higher education in China. More than 15,000 students are enrolled in academic departments including its Department of Silicate Materials Engineering.
