Dankook has constructed a bridge in cooperative relations with the Eurasia region through close ties with Kazakh National University of Arts.

President Hosung Chang recently visited the power nation of Central Asia, Kazakhstan, and met with the leaders of education and culture to promote cooperative projects. He was also successful in advancing a government funded foreign student program.

The foundation of this visit was built on continuous exchange between Dankook University and Kazakh National University of Arts after the signing of an agreement in 2012. During the week-long visit from July 14th, President Chang and Aiman Mussakhajayeva, rector of Kazakh National University of Arts, agreed to develop a student exchange program and a training program between the two schools.

Under this agreement, Dankook will utilize the dance and music of Europe from Kazakh National University of Arts as an educational asset and has laid a foundation to promote studying abroad for Central Asia students who are interested in Korean culture.

During the luncheon with the Minister of Culture and Sports, Arystanbek Mukhamediuly and Rector Mussakhajayeva, President Chang agreed to participate in the Bolashak program.

The Bolashak Program is a government scholarship introduced in 1993, awarded to high-performing students from Kazakhstan to study overseas. Every year, more than 2,000 Kazakhstan students are chosen to study at prestigious universities all around the world. Until now, only 4 schools from Korea participated in the Boloshak Program, Seoul National University, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Yonsei University, and Korea University. Moreover, the Bolashak Program usually funded students studying Social Sciences or Natural Sciences/Engineering, but considering that Korean Pop Culture is gaining worldwide attention, it was agreed to open the doors wider to cultivate professionals in culture contents.
