More than 300 international students participated in the contest.
The contest spread the love for Korean movies as well as Korean language.

In celebration of Hangul Day, Dankook University held a ‘Movie Essay Contest for International Students’ on October 8th with the title of ‘A Korean Movie and Myself.’

The commemorative contest was held on the occasion of the 568th anniversary of Hangul Day to promote Korean movies to international students by giving them a memorable experience. The participants were asked to select a Korean movie and write about their impressions of it. Besides the essay contest, a variety of events including jigsaw puzzles and finger paintings were held to attract the attention of the participants.

The first prize was awarded to Wu ZiaZia, a freshman of the department of Korean Literature, for writing about her impression of the movie ‘Marathon.’ She commented “I watched it on the recommendation of my friend and I was deeply touched by the mother’s deep love for her son. I had a tough job writing the essay in Korean, but I am very happy that I won first prize.”
