Dankook University’s overseas volunteer corps have shown an example of the school’s guiding principles of truth and service through their volunteer work in third world countries such as Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Mongolia.

The group visited the Siem Reap province of Cambodia and Vientiane, Laos to help elementary school students there. They taught young children, offered free meals and worked on improving facilities and the housing environment in the areas. Meanwhile, the overseas volunteer corps from the Cheonan campus was in Mongolia and Myanmar spreading the warmth of Dankook with local residents, providing similar services such as teaching and doing maintenance work on facilities to create a better atmosphere. They delivered school supplies and held exhibitions in Myanmar, as well. In Mongolia, student volunteers worked with students at the Korean language department of the National University of Mongolia to teach at local elementary schools and enhance surrounding environments.
