Dankook University, the leading university in the national ‘biohealth convergence and open sharing system’ project, has partnered with the Korea Biotechnology Industry Organization (KBIO) to foster talent in the field of biotechnology and to work together on new technologies.

DKU President Soo-bok Kim, professor Se-won Chang (Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Head of the Project Group), professor Jang-mook Kim (Project Group Leader), professor Jae-young Lee (Head of the Career Service Center), KBIO Chairman Han-sung Ko (CEO of Samsung Bioepis), Vice Chairman Seung-gyu Lee, and Vice President Ji-ho Sohn were among the participants from Dankook University and KBIO that attended the MOU signing ceremony on November 26th.

In accordance with the MOU, the two organizations are expected to work together in various areas, including joint research and technical guidance for digital biohealth, talent development, education programs, internships, and technology transfers. Biohealth jobs and career design guidelines developed by KBIO will also be loaded to the DKU project platform to share information on specific job functions, careers, and field specialists with our students. Moreover, industry-academia partnership programs for building next generation education models and living lab projects will be developed.

“Through the MOU with KBIO, which is at the heart of advancing the bio industry, Dankook will expand the ecosystem for relevant industries and closely cooperate with businesses to systematically develop talent needed in this field,” said DKU President Soo-bok Kim.

DKU’s project group was the first to set up a curriculum/learning management system among the eight universities selected by the government for the project, with 4,473 students from seven universities currently enrolled in its courses.
