Introduction

He graduated from the department of physics education at Seoul National University and received his Ph.D. from the same school in 2012. He had worked as a visiting academic in the Institute of Education, UCL(University College London) and conducted researches on socio-scientific issues education. He has got research grants from many national institutes such as the NRF, KOFAC, and KIPA, and he dealt with a variety of topics as socio-scientific issues, interdisciplinary education, and data science. In these days, he releases a number of papers to journals indexed in SCI, which talk about the aesthetic features of physics and commonalities between physics and art. The latest project he is conducting is to develop a learning framework of physics using machine learning and data mining. In particular, he has plenty of experiences of invited talks about big data and science education in many academic organizations, e.g., Seoul National University, UCL, Macquarie University, Korean Physical Society, etc.

Teaching Philosophy

"Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.'"

Every human makes a mistake and stumbles down occasionally. Even though we only live once, good chances are waiting for us in every corner of our lives. Education plays an assistant role in helping everyone to hold these chances and to follow his/her own way, in spite of all different things. The one who gives strength to the stumbled I want to be.
