교수소개

대학원 박사과정중 세포내 에너지와 활성산소를 생산하는 미토콘드리아의 전자전달계 효소인 시토크롬 씨 옥시다제의 활성을 조절하는 기작을 연구하였습니다. 그후 연구원과정동안 암과 뇌질환등 인간의 여러질병들과 미토콘드리아 기능이상의 상관관계에 대해서 연구했습니다. 또한 시토크롬 씨 옥시다제의 폐조직특이적 동위효소의 기능을 유전자형질변형 생쥐연구를 통해서 밝혀내었습니다. 그리고 뇌졸증과 심장마비후 야기되는 세포파괴를 막을수 있는 원적외선 치료를 연구하여 미국 특허를 출원했습니다. 현재 여러 질병에서 보여지는 미토콘드리아의 기능장애 기작을, 특히 세포신호체계의 역할에 대해서 연구하고 있습니다.
