Introduction

Prof. Dae-Kyung Kang is Professor in the Department of Animal Resources Science, majoring on industrial microbiology and biotechnology. He received Ph.D. from Tokyo University, Japan and worked as Post-doctorate at the National Institutes of Health, USA. His primary research interests and laboratory studies focus on functional probiotics, especially on lactic acid bacteria and microbial metabolites. In his lab, they use a combination of molecular and genetic tools to develop probiotic microorganisms and biomaterials for the animal and food industries. Projects include: 1) Screening of functional probiotics. 2) Genetic engineering of lactic acid bacteria 3) Genomics and proteomics of lactic acid bacteria, etc.
