Mr. Liu Wenchao and Ms. Lan Ruixia, who graduated from the Department of Animal Resource Science’s doctorate program last August, were appointed as assistant professors to China’s Guangdong Ocean University. After receiving their master’s degrees from China’s Sichuan Agricultural University back in 2015, the two now Dankook alumni chose to come to Korea to study and work along the research team of Prof. Inho Kim who is a world renowned scholar in the field of animal resources science.

While working as a part of Prof. Kim’s team, the two Chinese students displayed passion for their studies as they actively took part in the university’s industry-academia joint research initiatives and had 10 or more papers published in international academic journals, each respectively. In particular, Dankook University supported the students studying overseas by extending scholarships for their 2-year tuition and living expenses. Mr. Liu and Ms. Lan made great research progress throughout the 30 months at Dankook to graduate and both be appointed as professors at Guangdong Ocean University in China.

Mr. Liu Wenchao said that “(I) had no difficulty in researching and studying at Dankook thanks to the outstanding research infrastructure and active industry-academia partnerships. As I return to my home country, I will focus on teaching students at university and continue to make exchange opportunities with DKU.”
