■Selected for project which supports universities contributing to high school education, DKU scheduled to receive 1.21 billion KRW in financial support

Dankook University has been selected for the ‘2017 support project for universities contributing to high school education.’ Dankook University has been among the participants of the project for four consecutive years since it kicked off in 2014 and will receive 1.21 billion KRW in support this year alone. DKU has received a total 5.17 billion KRW during the last four years, which is the fifth largest amount in support received among universities in Korea.

The support project for universities contributing to high school education is a program where the Korean Council for University Education extends assistance to universities that operate college admissions focused on high school education and strengthen admission related capabilities such as increasing admissions officers.

The Korean Council for University Education selected universities for this program last year and decided to support them for two years. Since the end of the program in 2016, a reassessment was carried out this year taking into account ▲current state of college admissions ▲conditions and improvement plans ▲alignment with middle and high school education, and ▲efforts to strengthen college admission programs.

Despite the bottom 10 ranking universities, including some well-known universities, on the list from last year failed to make this year’s list, Dankook University performed well in the 2017 evaluation and will continue to carry out a stable high school education-oriented college admission program.

■Selected as a leading university for K-MOOC and to open outstanding courses online

Dankook University has been selected for the ‘2017 Korean Massive Open Online Course (K-MOOC)’ program.

The K-MOOC program hosted by the Ministry of Education and the National Institute for Lifelong Education opens outstanding university lectures on the internet to provide the general public with the opportunity to benefit from higher education.

Dankook University will open 8 courses focused on the university’s specialization programs for IT (Information Technology), CT (Culture Technology) and BT (Bio Technology) starting this year until 2019.
