Introduction

Junhee Kim received his B.S. of Engineering in 1998 from Seoul National University and his M.S. in Structural Engineering in 2000 from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), both in Korea. He had worked as a structural engineer in industry for six years before moving to the US in 2006 for his doctoral studies. He received his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering in 2010 from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI. Thereafter, Dr. Kim served as a Research Fellow at the University of Michigan in the Laboratory for Intelligent Structural Technology to August 2011 and a research professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at KAIST. Dr. Kim has been an assistant professor in the Department of Architectural Engineering at Dankook University, Korea, since May 2013. Dr. Kim’s research interests are in the areas of structural health monitoring (SHM), theoretical and experimental structural dynamics, system identification, wireless and non-contact sensing technology, and smart building structures.
