■ 1,622 Bachelors, 607 Masters, 94 PhDs Receive Degree




The 2015 Fall Graduation Ceremony was held on August 25th, 10am and 3pm at the Student Union Building of each campus. 1,622 Bachelors (Jukjeon 928, Cheonan 694), 607 Masters (Jukjeon 458, Cheonan 149), 94 PhDs (Jukjeon 56, Cheonan 38) had the honor of receiving their diploma.




President Hosung Chang expressed his congratulations, “You are now taking the first steps in building up your career after 4 years of higher education. Your heart is already conscious of what you want to do and what you want to be. You are responsible for your own life and regardless of success or failure I hope you do not give up in pursuing your dreams.”



■ Rector of the Kazakh National University of Arts Receives Honorary Doctoral Degree




Dankook University also awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of Philosophy to Aiman Mussakhajayeva, rector of the Kazakh National University of Arts. Aiman Mussakhajayeva is a People’s Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a world renowned violinist. She is the prizewinner of prestigious international competitions such as the 1976 ‘Belgrade International Competition (Yugoslavia)’, the ‘Paganini International Competition (Genoa, Italy)’, and the 1986 ‘8th Tchaikovsky International Competition (Moscow, Russia)’.



Aiman Mussakhajayeva has devoted her life to cultivating musicians at the Moscow, Almaty, and Bishkek Music Conservatories. In 1998, her efforts for world peace through music were acknowledged and she received an honorary title “Artist for Peace” from UNESCO. In the same year, her passion for music and education led her to found the Kazakh National Academy of Music. In 2009, the Academy gained a new status as a state organization, “Kazakh National University of Arts” for which she is serving as rector until this day.
