In the ‘2016 emergency medical services institution (EMS) evaluation’ results recently announced by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Dankook University Hospital (Director Park Woo-Seong) received the ‘most outstanding’ grade, ranking number one among 414 EMS centers including 18 district emergency centers reviewed.

Dankook University Hospital received high scores for most criteria including ER patient satisfaction, appropriateness of assigned physicians, patient transfers, percentage of beds filled, credibility of information on hospital beds, and stance in disaster support to reach the leading position in the nation.

The Dankook University Hospital District Emergency Center has worked closely with district trauma centers and doctor helicopter to provide professional treatment and systematic medical services to critical trauma and cardio-cerebrovascular patients by transferring them for treatment within the golden hour.

An official of the Ministry of Health and Welfare said that “the top ranking medical institutions including Dankook University Hospital increased the rate of offering final treatment to severe emergency patients, boasted of strong cooperative systems between medical departments, and all have an excellent ER operation and management system to safely transfer emergency patients to other medical institutions, when necessary.”
